The BigBlu was founded to create products of the highest quality,
specialising in fish leather, tuna and swordfish.
Tuna is one of the most consumed blue fish species in our country. Its nutritional properties make it an indispensable part of the Mediterranean diet. Of particular interest among all its nutrients is the high proportion of fats at around 12%. A large part of these belong to the family of omega-3 fatty acids. These, especially the EPA and DHA varieties found in this fish, are essential for our health and should therefore be included in our daily diet.
Swordfish is characteristic for having a fat ratio close to 4%, leading to a high concentration and presence of soluble vitamins A and D. Vitamin A is essential for vision, while vitamin D is key for forming our bones and maintaining them in good health.
Product made from tuna (Thunnus albacares, Thunnus obesus) which has been thawed, bled, eviscerated and cut up into clean loin pieces with skin.
These segments are then vacuum
packed, ensuring that all organoleptic qualities are maintained up to the
end of its shelf life.

Product made from the ventral section of the tuna (Thunnus albacares and Thunnus obessus), that has been thawed, cleaned and vacuum packed with the addition of some antioxidants to ensure that all organoleptic qualities are maintained up to the end of its shelf life.
Product made from swordfish (Xiphias Gladius) which has been thawed, bled, eviscerated and cut down to completely clean loin segments. These pieces are then vacuum packed, thereby ensuring that all its organoleptic qualities are retained for the duration of its shelf life.
Our plant, including the factory and the storage areas, comprises a total area of 3,124m², with 868m² of cold storage space. We have a 148m² freezer room at -60°C, and storage space for a total of 300 tons of product.
The offices are separate from the rest of the plant and cover 664m².
The BigBlu meets quality standards and has implemented a quality assurance system based on HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points).
